Akshay Kumar is bringing new toilets to these villages!

Promoting a film can be a creative affair, but when the film in question harbours the nation’s interests at heart, creativity meets civic sense and makes for something much bigger. As Toilet: Ek Prem Katha gears up for release on August 11, leading man Akshay Kumar has been doing his bit not only to generate interest in the film but also generate awareness about the issue that lies at its core. Today, the actor is at the epicenter of another initiative, this time one where fans are being invited to participate too! #24hours24toilets will see Kumar unveiling 24 toilets over 24 hours on Instagram on August 7, in partnership with CAYA. The activity is reflective of the ethos of the film, which addresses the larger concern of open defecation in India. These toilets will help bring much-needed sanitation across smaller villages in Jaipur, Delhi, Rewri, Mohali, Karnal, Panipat, Kota, Yamuna Nagar, Narnaul, Gurgaon and address the pertinent issue of open defecation.
